Okay, okay. So I've decided to get a blog. I'm not really one to go very in depth online, but with all the big changes coming my way, I figured, what better way to keep people up to date? Plus, blogs are all the rage right now...am I right? :) Ha-ha.
Just in case you haven't heard, God has definitely thrown me a curve ball this summer. For as long as I can remember, I've had a passion to work with kids--especially the difficult ones. What can I say, I love a challenge. But on a trip with the college group from my church this summer to New Orleans, He instilled in me a passion for that city--for those people. After a period of listening, prayer, and discussion, I've decided to pursue that passion. In January I'll be moving down to New Orleans with the hopes of becoming a teacher there. It may be a few years down the road--but that is the goal. In the mean time, I hope to find a job in a school...maybe secretarial, TA, and/or in an after-school program. I'll also be taking night classes at Loyola...I have to get that degree somehow. :) To be honest, I'm both excited and scared at the same time. New Orleans will be an adventure--one that I definitely feel God leading me towards. Then again, it's New Orleans...and I'm a teenage white girl from the suburbs. But like I said, God's hand is in this, and going is part of trusting Him. I love that about God. In so many differeny ways He just asks you to take His hand, close your eyes, and jump in with both feet. New Orleans, here I come!
